Fig Cobbler Recipe

  • 5 to 6 cups peeled fresh figs
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • Butter or margarine
  • Pastry for 8-inch pie
  1. Combine figs, sugar, and flour; mix well.
  2. Spoon into an 8-inch square baking pan.
  3. Dot with butter.
  4. Roll pastry to 1/4 inch thickness on a lightly floured furface.
  5. Cut into 9 x 1/2 inch strips.
  6. Arrange strips in lattice fashion over fig mixture.
  7. Trim edges as needed.
  8. Bake at 375-degrees or until golden brown.

Makes six servings.
